Tropical Trail Mix

Trail mix provides an ideal balance of fat, protein, and carbs. Careful, though. Many popular varieties contain upwards of 15 grams of sugar per 1/4 cup. The apricots are a bit high in sugar, so opt for unsweetened banana chips and other naturally dried, unsweetened fruit.

1 C Dried Pineapple
1 C Dried Papaya
1 C Unsweetened Banana Chips
1 C Dried Apricots
¾ C Raisins
½ C Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
½ C Unsalted Roasted Almonds

Mix all ingredients together in a large container.  Divide into smaller baggies or Tupperware for a sweet, satisfying on-the-go snack  Beware, chocolate will melt so store in the fridge or freezer before a long hike our outing.

Serving Size ¼ Cup:  Approximately 120 calories, 2.5 g fat, 2 g protein and 17 G sugar.
