Baja Spice Rub

I concocted this spice rub to imitate the one used at Chipotle. With a hint of smoky-sweetness, this versatile rub will liven up your protein of choice. My favorite use?  Baja-style shrimp or chicken tacos. Double (or triple!) the measurements to have it mix on hand for future use.

Spice-Rubbed Chicken Wings (skinless)


1 1/2 tsp paprika
1 1/2 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp dried oregano
3/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (plus more for additional heat)
1/4 tsp ancho chile powder


Mix ingredients until evenly distributed. Sprinkle on chicken, seafood, steak, pork or tofu before preparation.
